Meet Our Team

Daya Bettadapura, MS, PE

President and Principal Engineer

For over 30 years, Mr. Bettadapura has provided civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering services for private and public clients for projects in California and many states across the country. He is a licensed civil engineer in California and many western states, and has academic background in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering. Mr. Bettadapura has dealt with many local, state and federal agencies for projects review, approvals and permitting. The projects have included small to large multi-disciplinary projects, including construction oversight and management. He specializes in geosynthetic applications and has been involved in design MSE walls, pavement design, slope stabilization, geosynthetic liners and covers. In the environmental field, his expertise includes, solid waste management facilities permitting, design and construction, and geotechnical aspects of soil remediation for both environmental and infrastructure projects. As the founding owner and president of ABI, he is directly involved in projects for technical aspects and quality of completed product.

Jimmy Wang, BS, PE

Senior Engineer and Project Manager

Mr. Wang has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from University of California, Irvine, and has been providing civil, environmental and geotechnical engineering services since 2000. He is a licensed civil engineer in California. He has performed and managed site investigations, engineering analysis, preparation of geotechnical reports, and construction plans. Mr. Wang has performed a number of geotechnical investigations across Southern California. He manages ABI’s soil testing laboratory and construction testing and observations for a variety of projects. Mr. Wang has design experience in civil engineering and earth retaining structures, including MSE walls.

Dinesh Shrestha, MS, PE, QSD/QSP

Project Engineer

Mr. Shrestha has a master’s degree from California State University, Fullerton, and has civil and geotechnical engineering experience for over 10 years. He is a licensed civil engineer in California. He has performed and managed site investigations, engineering analysis, preparation of geotechnical reports and foundation design. As a QSD/QSP he has prepared SWPPPs and NOI, and set up WDID. He has prepared updates and annual reports and performed site inspections and reporting. Mr. Shrestha has prepared WQMPs and BMP plans.

Mike Aguilar, BS, EIT

Staff Engineer

Mr. Aguilar has degree in Civil Engineering from University of California, San Diego, and is involved in structural and geotechnical engineering projects. He is involved in site and subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, design and engineering drafting.

Steven Kolthoff, CEG

Engineering Geologist Consultant

With over 40 years of experience, Mr. Kolthoff is a Consulting Engineering Geologist and Paleoseismologist. His experience includes all aspects of seismic fault investigations and other geological hazards including the field work and final conclusions. He has submitted over 120 school reports following CGS Note 48. With many commercial and residential developments, Steven has worked closely with geotechnical engineers for the buildings, bridges, developments and other critical aspects of the geotechnical engineering profession. Mr. Kolthoff has worked close with local and state agencies for all aspects of geology and engineering geology.

Paul Troung, BS, PE

Structural Engineer

Mr. Truong has a structural engineering degree from University of California, Irvine, and has 15 years of experience in structural engineering. He has worked on industrial, commercial, residential and facility engineering projects providing structural design for a variety of structures. Mr. Troung is experienced in design of wood-framed and steel structures, shoring systems design, retaining deep foundations and construction inspections.
